My Personal Story
I began my training as an Alexander Technique teacher in the year 2000 after retiring from my position as Pre-School Co-ordinator for Title One in the Fall River, MA school department. The training school I chose was the Carrington School in London. There, I studied with Dilys & Walter Carrington both of whom had been students of FM Alexander.
My program required three and a half years of study with additional teaching terms completed after certification both in London and at Trinity Repertory / Brown University (Rhode Island) theater program assisting the Voice & Alexander Technique teacher. (I am currently an Instructor of the Alexander Technique program.)
Since returning the the United States, I have attended a monthly seminar in Amherst, MA with Missy Vineyard, the director of Alexander Technique New England Training School. Missy is a founding member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique. Currently, I am serving as a member of the Board for this professional organizatioin.
